National Cupcake Day

I've recently learned that today is National Cupcake Day, coincidentally while mid bite into a delicious cookies n' cream cupcake of my own. These sweet treats are an important tradition in my household - every Tuesday a new batch of 6 multi-flavoured cupcakes (typically from The Cupcake Shoppe in Toronto) are nestled into their corner on the kitchen counter. Needless to say, they're okay. Whether you're an "icing" or "cake" person (I'm not the latter), the mint chocolate cupcake at Flour Studio might send you to heaven. Try it!

In the fashion industry, you have to be three steps ahead at all times, whether it's selecting the menu for an event or sending a special holiday treat. Think cool and unexpected vs. safe and well, boring. Though cupcakes are starting to evoke "yawns" and macaroons are on their way out, whoopies are staking claim as the next messy but chic treat.
